White Lotus

A white tea that is rolled and fired, and in Nepal this counts as the more traditional way of making one.

The leaf is withered, then rolled and given a light firing. Those two steps are what separate it from the untouched style of white tea, and they place it technically between white and green. The rolling gives it a more expressive character, the firing keeps the leaf fresh with a hint of green.

Morning meadow flowers, geranium and a baked note in the dry leaf. In the cup it turns green and aromatic, spicy as if soaked in essential oils, with a spinach base underneath and warm fruit sitting quietly behind it.

Oxidized at 5 to 10%. It stays fresh from start to finish and closes on a long, cooling finish with a touch of eucalyptus.
